The City of Antioch is offering exciting employment opportunities for two (2) part-time Program Specialist positions in our Sports Division of our Parks and Recreation Department.
Parks and Recreation is responsible for providing recreational, educational and cultural programs for children, adults and seniors.
Our facilities include over 30 parks, a sports complex, 2 community centers and a Water Park.
The Sports Division is responsible for offering comprehensive programming for all ages including sports leagues, drop-in programs, instructional classes and more.
The Sports Division is also responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of Sports Facilities including the Antioch Community Center Gym, Worth Shaw Sports Complex, Antioch City Park, Neighborhood Park athletic fields and more.
One position will oversee our Sports Facility Rental program.
This position consists of mostly administrative work including scheduling, processing payments, customer service and other duties as assigned.
One position will oversee our Skills and Drills program.
This position consists of leading sports classes for 4-12 year old youth, designing curriculum and training staff.
Candidates must be available to work early afternoons on weekdays (4pm-8pm) and Saturday mornings (7am-2pm).
Ideal Candidate Staff's general schedule is flexible but will consist of weekday office hours and shifts on nights and weekends each week depending on programming.
These positions will be limited to 1,000 hours per year.
Essential skills for the position include but are not limited to:
attention to detail, ability to communicate City policy verbally and in writing, accuracy in handling transactions (credit card, cash, check), work with volunteers, ability to learn registration software, utilize Microsoft Office programs, and support the Recreation Supervisor with sports leagues and programs throughout the year.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
One (1) year working in the parks and recreation or sports/athletics field.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver's License by time of appointment.
Ability to obtain American Red Cross First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
Must maintain and renew certification per the American Red Cross guidelines.
