Under the direction of an assigned administrator, provide instructional support and assistance to certificated teachers and students assigned to a designated special education instructional program; perform a variety of support activities related to behavior management and classroom instruction of special education students; perform a variety of clerical support duties related to classroom and program activities.
Generally, provides service for students enrolled in Resources Specialist Programs, or to students with Mild/Moderate areas of need.
EDUCATION/
Experience:
Any combination equivalent to:
Graduation from high school or equivalent; experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
Licenses and other requirements:
Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire.
Registered Behavior Technician certificate preferred.
EVERY STUDENT SUCCEEDS ACT (ESSA) FEDERAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree or completion of 48 semester units from an accredited college or university or district assessment/county certificate showing compliance with ESSA are required.
